• Engraved / Chiseled rings

Engraving /Chiseling is one of the most ancient ways to decorate the rings. It was used in classical times to include individual patterns or personal "messages" in the rings. Chiseling is a cutting process in which a much deeper, more durable, pattern is sculpted in the jewelry using a pinch-type chisel tool . The ring is placed in a spherical chiseling vise and this way the chisel and the ring can be moved in a consistent manner.

As technology has improved, nowadays the chisel tool works with pneumatic force and adjusts the stroke length and the impact strength as well. During this process a distortion-free microscope is used. Of course, the engraving is a hand-performed piece of work with artistic value as these tools do not substitute the drawing skills, craftsmanship, and many years of experience and practice.
